Training Group Information

The Advanced Competition Squad is for highly committed competitive swimmers who demonstrate a strong dedication to developing their technique, performance fitness and competitive skills.

The programme is designed primarily for biologically older athletes and focuses on developing the physical, technical and racing qualities required to perform consistently at a high level.

Training is structured around target competitions identified by the Head Coach, with programmes tailored to the individual wherever possible. Consideration is given to each swimmer’s primary events and the specific demands of those events.

Swimmers in this group may compete at National Championships, North East Regional Championships, County Championships and Level 1 and Level 2 competitions, depending on their individual qualifying times, development and competition programme.

Placement and continued membership are determined by the Head Coach and Assistant Head Coach, based on the swimmer’s overall development, performance and suitability for the squad.

Minimum Gala attendance: 3 per year.
