Club and Community Pathway
Training Group Information
The Club/Community Pathway is for swimmers who wish to continue swimming and competing within a supportive and friendly club environment, typically competing at County level and below.
There is less emphasis on high-volume competition or the pursuit of regional and national qualifying times. Instead, the pathway provides swimmers with the opportunity to continue developing their swimming, maintain fitness, compete where appropriate and remain an active part of the club.
The pathway offers a less competition-focused training experience while still providing regular coaching, structured development and the opportunity to remain part of a squad.
It supports the retention and continued development of older swimmers in line with Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) principles, while providing athletes who may not have sufficient session access elsewhere with the opportunity to continue swimming, progress at their own pace and enjoy the social and developmental benefits of club membership.
Swimmers on the Club/Community Pathway may train within:
Competition Gold (selected swimmers)
Competition Navy
Club Squad
Placement and continued membership of the Club/Community Pathway are determined by the Head Coach and Assistant Head Coach, taking into account the swimmer’s individual goals, development and suitability for the pathway.
